Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the congregation of American Lutheran Church of Sun City for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Pastor Paul CampbellRev. Paul Campbell - Interim Senior Pastor

Born and raised in Nebraska, Pastor Paul’s undergraduate degree and first career was in Broadcast Journalism. He started as a camera operator for the Nebraska PBS network and worked his way into producing and scheduling the on-air breaks that occur between programs.

He felt God calling him to serve as a Lutheran pastor three years after his stint in TV and attended seminary in St. Paul, MN. During his more than four decades of ministry, Paul was fortunate to have served in a few different ministry positions including a parish pastor in Minnesota and North Dakota and ELCA Regional Communications Director before venturing out on his own by contracting with ELCA colleges and seminaries, helping them learn how to use emerging electronic communication technology. He was fortunate that Spirit in the Desert Retreat in Carefree, Arizona was one of his clients. After a few years consulting, Paul was called to serve as its Executive Director for 12 years.

After retiring from Spirit, he served as Interim Pastor for two congregations in The Grand Canyon Synod to add to the two congregations in Wisconsin where he served in the same capacity.

Paul and his wife, Donna, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their three children and three grandsons, all of whom still live in Minnesota.

Pastor David SiveczRev. David Sivecz - Interim Associate Pastor

Pastor David was born and raised just outside of Buffalo, New York. After graduating from high school, he went to college at the University of Miami in Florida where it was his plan to work in the professional sports industry.  However, through his involvement at a United Methodist Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry, he discovered his calling to go to seminary and become a pastor.  Upon receiving a Bachelor in Business Administration (B.B.A.), with a major in Business Management and minor in Sport Administration, he followed through in God's calling and received a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology in Atlanta.

As part of his ordination process, he continued his studies and received a Master of Sacred Theology (S.T.M) from Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC. Immediately afterwards, he completed an internship at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cincinnati, OH.

While waiting for his first call to ministry, he was an interim pastor at three different churches in Western New York. Before coming to ALC, he was called to Celebration Lutheran in Peoria, AZ where he served as the Redevelopment Pastor for 3½ years.

He is a big Miami Hurricanes and Buffalo Bills football fan!
