Wednesday Night Alive has been a vibrant part of ALC for more than 25 years. American Lutheran Church.
Each Wednesday evening includes:
A 4:00 PM program (inspirational or educational topics)
A 5:00 PM catered dinner
A 6:00 PM musical program
Veterans Day is integrated into this schedule: our Nov 12 WNA evening is dedicated to honoring those who served.
Because WNA is open to church members and non-members alike, this is a great opportunity to invite neighbors, friends, and family to experience ALC’s welcoming community.
Experience a heartfelt tribute to those who served. The event begins with the presentation of colors by the Luke AFB Honor Guard, followed by a moving life story from Cmdr. Joel Lassman, USN (Ret.). Cmdr. Lassman’s journey, from being the child of Holocaust survivors to serving as a Navy Commander, is an inspiring testament to courage and resilience.
The program concludes with a special acknowledgment of all veterans in attendance and the solemn playing of taps. Guests will enjoy seating in the ALC Courtyard, surrounded by waving flags, creating a meaningful and patriotic atmosphere.
After the Veterans Day program, gather around the table for a classic All-American meal—a perfect reflection of comfort, community, and gratitude.
Enjoy a plate full of favorites:
🥔 Crispy Fried Chicken – golden, seasoned, and cooked to perfection.
🥗 Creamy Potato Salad – a picnic-style classic with a homestyle touch.
🍲 All American Beans – hearty, sweet, and smoky.
🍉 Juicy Watermelon – fresh and refreshing.
🥧 Homemade Apple Crisp – warm, crumbly, and sweetly spiced.
Dinner is part of our Wednesday Night Alive gathering — a time each week to share food, faith, and friendship. It’s more than just a meal…it’s community at its best.
So bring your appetite and your gratitude — and enjoy great food and even greater company as we celebrate the heroes among us.
Be uplifted by the Phoenix Pioneer Band—revived in 2021 to recapture the spirit of Phoenix’s early community bands, connecting us through music that tells a story.
Enjoy the program at no cost — it’s free and open to everyone! Dinner is available with a ticket for $12 per person.
In person: Purchase at the ALC Office until 12:00 Noon Monday, Nov 11
