This informative presentation, developed by the Arizona Criminal Justice System and the Area Agency on Aging, is designed to help older adults better understand prescription medication safety and prevent medication misuse.

Participants will learn the differences between medication misuse and abuse, the potential health risks and consequences, and practical ways to safely manage medications.

The presentation also includes guidance on how to communicate effectively with doctors and pharmacists, important questions to ask about medications and pain management, affordable medication options, and safe storage and disposal practices for prescription drugs. This presentation is offered by the Maricopa Elder Behavioral Health Advocacy Coalition.
